On a cloud server, I installed tinyproxy:
# pacman -S tinyproxy
And then ran it with default settings (listens on 8888):
On the local machine I established an SSH connection with port forwarding:
ssh -v -L 4747:localhost:8888 -p 443 [email protected]
Explained: SSH shall be verbose, listen on
4747 and forward all recevied traffic across the tunnel to
localhost:8888 which is established with
remotehost.com on port
443 for the user
Next up, I configured Firefox to use
127.0.0.1:4747 as the proxy for all traffic.
Tada! Simple as that.
